AIA Honor Award for 2009 Estate Project

07-06-2011

The Retreat, one segment of the Croton-on-Hudson Estate project designed by Rene R. Mueller, R.A. Architect/Planner, received a 2009 AIA Honor Award in the category of Single-Family Residences.

In granting the award the jury “appreciated this modern Shingle-style retreat's open floor plan and its associated comfortable living environment, as well as the Architect's careful attention to detail”.

The Retreat is one of three distinctive buildings on the Estate. The property also features the Atelier & Engineerum - a private museum housing the owner's unique collection of turn-of-the-century steam engines - and the estate's Main Residence, which was designed to take utmost advantage of its forested hilltop location with panoramic southwesterly views of the Hudson River.
